Return Policy

1. Return window: 14 days from delivery

You may request a return within 14 calendar days of the date your order is delivered to you (not the date you placed the order). This applies to change-of-mind returns as well as returns for a faulty, damaged or incorrect item - though the process differs slightly depending on the reason, as explained below.

2. How to request a return

Email sales@automanagespare.co.za with your order number, the item you want to return, and your reason for returning it. You can also reach us on WhatsApp at +27 65 725 7359 to start the conversation, but every return must be confirmed in writing by email so there is a clear record of your request and the date it was made. We will reply within one business day with return instructions and, where applicable, a collection or drop-off arrangement.

3. Who pays for return shipping

If you are returning an item because you changed your mind, ordered the wrong part, or no longer need it, you are responsible for the cost of returning it to us. If the item is defective, arrived damaged, or we shipped you the wrong item, Auto Manage Spare covers the full cost of return shipping - you will not be charged anything.

4. Condition the item must be in

Because our stock is used engines and gearboxes, an item that has been fitted, installed or run cannot be resold as-is, so change-of-mind returns are only accepted if the item has not been fitted or installed and is in the same condition it was delivered in, with all parts, fluids and accessories that were included in the sale. This condition requirement does not apply to items that are faulty, damaged in transit, or incorrect - see sections 8 and 9. Faults that appear after an item has been fitted are covered by our Warranty terms instead.

5. How quickly refunds are issued

Once we receive your returned item and confirm it meets the condition requirements above, we process your refund within 5 business days. Please allow a further 2–5 business days for the refund to reflect in your account, depending on your bank.

6. How the refund is issued

Refunds are paid back using the same method you paid with - for example, an EFT payment is refunded to the same bank account. We do not issue store credit or vouchers unless you specifically request one instead.

7. Are shipping fees refundable?

The original outbound shipping fee is not refunded if you are returning an item because you changed your mind - only the price of the item itself is refunded. If your return is due to our error (faulty, damaged or incorrect item), the original shipping fee is refunded in full along with the item price.

8. If your item arrives damaged

Photograph the crate or packaging before opening it, note the damage on the courier's delivery receipt if possible, and contact sales@automanagespare.co.za within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and photos of the damage. We will arrange a free replacement or a full refund, including shipping - whichever you prefer - and we handle the carrier claim ourselves so you don't have to.

9. If the wrong item was shipped

Contact sales@automanagespare.co.za as soon as you notice the item you received doesn't match your order, with your order number and a photo of what you received. We will arrange free collection of the incorrect item and either ship the correct item at no extra cost or issue a full refund, including shipping, whichever you prefer.

10. Items that cannot be returned

Once an engine or gearbox has been fitted, installed or run, it cannot be returned for a change-of-mind refund, since a used mechanical part cannot be resold once it has been put into service. This does not affect any fault that becomes apparent after fitting - see our Warranty page for how that's handled.
